Neal Stephenson: Quicksilver

I’ve read Snow Crash, Diamond Age and Cryptonomicon — and it feels like Quicksilver is a step sideways for Stephenson. I found the book hard to get into, and rather boring at times. Neither faults of Stephenson’s earlier cypherpunk novels, but perhaps signs of maturity as a writer?

There’s a lot to like about the Baroque Cycle. And then there’s the possibility that Stephenson tried to do a little too much.
